Update: Friday June 2, 2011 – Manitoba Water Stewardship is forecasting a second river peak sometime within the next couple of weeks due to the torrential downpours experienced across the area this week. This video is a “walk-about” around the Assiniboine River May 5, 2011 in Brandon, Manitoba checking out the flooding as the water continues to rise. This was taken on May 5th and now it seems that both main thoroughfares 18th and 1st that connect north and south Brandon may be in jeopardy of being closed to due to flooding if they are not already closed off..
